Belfair State Park, Belfair Washington
Belfair State Park is a wonderful park on the shores of Hood Canal in Washington state. Today the water is a brilliant color of aqua. Unusual for the canal any time of year. The tide is very low and tourists and locals are walking and exploring the low tide pools, clams and oyster beds. Cooking meals on barbecues, walking their dogs, hiking, all under the bluest skies and sunshine one could imagine. It is a day use park and overnight facility. Close to the seaside city of Belfair, with restaurants, grocery stores, basic small town amenities... This is only about 2 hours from the Seattle area and is well worth the drive for the day or a camping trip on a weekend. Another favorite of mine!
